On Things I Wish I'd Known About Japan

Two weeks ago today, I went on a long-anticipated ten-day trip to Japan, explaining partially the absence longer than necessary to post a new year's resolution.  An amalgam of the old and traditional to the very updated and modern,  Japan has always been a country I've longed to visit, boasting of unusual experiences, the sights, the shopping, and, of course, the food. On this trip I had four travel partners, all of whom have different interests, all of which contributed to our final itinerary (to be published later). A simple introduction of Travel Partners: Dad Authorial, headstrong, with a good eye for quality. Likes cameras, photography, shopping for clothes, and food. On the New Year

It has come to my realisation - no, in fact, I've always been acutely aware of my lack of effort in this blog since having started it half a year ago, and reviewing in retrospect six months' work to only come across a few half-assed reports makes me reconsider the initial reason for having started this blog. In truth, it was nothing more than a semi-public diary to help me arrange my thoughts, and though I had no specific reason to begin it I'm severely disappointed by my procrastination. Despite going through many experiences I failed to update my regularly, which is lazy on my part. I think my fear of dejection and negative feedback contributed to an irrational thinking to not update or post ideas. Whilst I had listed, prior to my first post, a list of possible subjects on which to comment, I returned to it later only to wonder if I had been wrong, or if my opinion was unsupported by evidence or fair reasoning, resulting in hesitation and, thus, mundane topics.
